As part of the whole school STEAM week project, Year 4 focussed on ‘Vertical Farming’ as a way to help solve the lack of food being produced to feed the growing world population. We researched vertical farming ideas and used the iPads to summarise our findings. We designed our own ‘vertical farms’, recycling plastic bottles to use as the plant holders. We’re looking forward to some warmer weather so we can plant our first seedlings! The final part of our STEAM project was to ‘cook’ popcorn using an open fire pit. The children really enjoyed this experience and did fantastically well at keeping themselves safe whilst having great fun popping their corn!
