Happy New Year to all of our Western family, friends and Governors. We have enjoyed welcoming children back to school and hearing their holiday news. It has been a very busy first week back including a visit from ITV Tyne Tees to celebrate Mrs Bramley’s special award in the New Year Honours List.
We wanted to update you on some staffing changes. We are delighted to welcome Mr James Ashard as our new administrative assistant. James will be a friendly face on the front desk and is very much looking forward to getting to know you all. We are also very pleased that Mrs Gemma Robson, whom you will already know as an HLTA in our school, has been appointed as learning mentor, working closely with a range of children and families in school. We also look forward to welcoming back Mrs English (formerly Miss Maidment) to Year 4 following her wedding and maternity leave.
Spring is always a busy term and this year is no exception. There are class assemblies for 4CM, 2FI and 2LA. TARDIS will be in school working with Year 1 on their music assembly and Year 5 will go to York on their residential visit. We also have sessions for families including an E-safety session, Crystal Maze Family Challenge afternoons and Parents’ Evening and Booklook.
