Friends of Western is our name for the school PTA (Parent Teacher Association).

We are a group of parents and carers, supported by staff from the school who meet regularly to organise events to raise extra funds for the school.  As a parent or carer of a child at Western you are automatically a member of FoW!

Last year we held a Bake Sale, Christmas and Easter Raffles, NUFC Shirt Prize draw, Crazy Hair Day, and a Summer Jubilee picnic with stalls and refreshments.  These events together with grants from RW Mann and Arnold Clark enabled us to raise a record £5600.

Funds have recently been used to fund productions by visiting theatre companies, to purchase new books for the school library, to put together arts and crafts activity packs for the children at Christmas, to equip the new School Thrive Sensory room and to pay for extras in school that otherwise would not be possible.

We are always keen for new people to get involved so please come along to a meeting.  We meet several times a year- details about forthcoming meetings are shared on the School Gateway app and in the FoW newsletters.  Coming to a meeting does not commit you to anything but means you can share ideas and help make decisions about what sorts of activities we could organise and how to use the money we raise.

We know lots of people would like to get involved but may not be able to come to our meetings – so if you have any skills to share or fundraising ideas, please do email us: friendsofwesternprimary@gmail.com.  Alternatively, please a leave at message with one of the friendly school reception staff and we will get in touch.
