What a week we have had in Early Years! Following a challenge the caretakers had set us, we have been working in our forest area to give it a spring clean. We began by interviewing children across the school to find out what they would like in forest to improve it. We collated their suggestions and drew our own ideas; everything from swimming pools to castles and mini-golf to a mud kitchen.
We were very fortunate to have a visit from Zoe and Nicola who work at Wallsend Parks. They created logs for our new seating area and we had the opportunity to see Nicola use the chainsaw on our field! We have cleared and away lots of foliage and you wouldn’t believe the amount of rubbish we collected! Dens have been built, mud kitchens installed and a new stage to sing and dance on. We can’t wait to get back up to the forest to explore, play and learn in a very special part of our school.
