Computing

At Western Community Primary we recognise that computing is an integral part of modern day life.

As computing is continually developing and new technologies emerge, we as a school strive to provide all of our pupils with the essential skills needed to prepare them for the future. We will strive to equip all learners with the experiences and skills in computing that they will use in a rapidly changing technological world.

We will support children in becoming confident and independent learners in their use of computing technologies and through this encourage creativity, curiosity and courage when working with computing technology that endures as they move through life.

The study of computing will be broken down into core units: Computer Science, Digital Literacy and Information Technology. We have class sets of iPads and laptops which allow pupils to access the Computing curriculum.
